A 'LIL BIT 'O HISTORY: Since arriving in Fresno in 1990, Russ quickly developed his professional entertainment relationships and connections in the Central Valley and become a very reliable backup Entertainer/DJ for a number of his fellow Professional Entertainment Associates. This resulted in Russ establishing himself as Russ Parsley's Total Entertainment (www.rpte.com) Over time, as Russ continued to accept various gigs and events under short or no notice ... one in particular was for a Winter Formal for the Selma High School classes 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004, Russ' oldest son, Ryan, asked if he could assist in any way. Russ brought him up to speed with each individual events' requirements and quickly put him to work. Russ and his son, Ryan, had a really great time working together in FY 2000 which was the very beginning to this new chapter in the life of Russ Parsley. In 2001, while in conversation with Russ, Ryan asked, "Hey Dad! Remember those events you were hired to perform for last year that you let me help you with?" Russ answered, "Sure do. Why?" Ryan continued, "Well, why can't we do that more often...I mean, like, all of the time?" Russ replied, "There's nothing saying we can't. Do you want to?" To which Ryan replied, "Yeah! I'd love to work with you." Russ agreed with Ryan and decided now was as good a time as any to formalize what he had always envisioned but never really finalized... the development and launch of his own Mobile DJ & Entertainment business. However, this was going to be a little different than he had ever imagined. This was going to be his and his son's and the beginning of Stage 1 of a his 5-stage business concept that had evolved from Russ Parsley's Total Entertainment to PARSLEY & SONS to PARSLEY & ASSOCIATES and finally...once and for all: PANDA DJs, a Division of RUSS PARSLEY PRESENTS . . . In preparation for the development of the Parsley's new business, Russ cantacted all of his past entertainment contacts in Los Angeles. He arranged for an up-to-date music file of over 300 CDs with over 5,500 selections. This was perfect to ensure the business got off to a musically strong start. Next, Russ contacted an artist, HERGIE, whom he's known since he was 14-years-old (which makes it about 24 years) who also happens to be Ryan's Grandfather, to design & create the perfect company logo for their business cards, banners and vehicle markings. Russ' next efforts, with Ryan, will be the selection of their first sound and lights package that will be able to serve a great number of events. Beyond this, Russ & Ryan have selected the appropriate Cargo Vehicle the transport their equipment from gig to gig and have developed plans to convert it inside and out to reflect the true professionalism of the PARSLEY & ASSOCIATES company. . . TIMELINE: MAY 1, 2002 - While Russ was busy reestablishing his Southern California contacts, an alliance was reformed with a 29-year professional sound system company and former sub-contracting partner effectively making Parsley & Associates the most technologically up-to-date and advanced Mobile DJ company throughout the Central Valley ... while also offering the greatest combined years of experience - 44 Years !!! May 4, 2002 - Take 1 THE MAIDEN VOYAGE - One would think that with 44-years of combined experience ... there wouldn't be any more maiden voyages ... well, when setting sail as a new company, there is ... and this one went without a hitch. A Graduation Party for Bullard High 2002 - A private affair, referred by long-time associate, Chris Pacheco, resulting in 100's of young adults having the time of their lives ... what a great way to end an era and begin a new one. What was only scheduled to go 5-hours ... eventually wrapped up 7-hours later. May 11, 2002 - Take 2 Another former associate in the industry from years-gone-by ... heard Russ had recently launched his own Entertainment Company ... familiar with his professionalism, he immediately contracted Russ' services for his own 20-year reunion for which he was responsiblle to arrange the entertainment. As luck would have it ... Russ was available, in such short notice, to entertain for the Central High School - Class of 1981. Another fine event ... May 19,2002 - TAKE 3 As a long-time employee and professional DJ for CBS/Infinity Broadcasting - Fresno, Russ was called up by a member of the groups' senior management, Kevin O'Rorke, to perform his services for a promotional event called "The BIG Do" which, when held, will attract well over 1,500 younger and mature women for a Fashion and Hair Show & Competition. Russ' role ... will be to present the music for the models entering the Stage Area, as well as for the moments in-between. Russ' past experience as the DJ at Lucy's @ the Holiday Inn - Fresno Airport and conducting the Temptation Tuesday's Lingerie Show for 2-years (110 shows) will definately come in handy for this event. If you are reading this before the event has taken place ... you are invited to attend and see for yourself the type of professionalism that PARSLEY & ASSOCIATES is all about. This was also the event that made russ aware that his"To Do" list wasn't complete ... in that he still needed to complete the process of filing for his "official" business license ... May16, 2002 marks that All Important Day in the official MAY 2002 launch of RUSS PARSLEY PRESENTS dba PARSLEY & ASSOCIATES. August 2002 - Take 4 Because of the length of the name of the new company paired with the difficulty of making an impact on the user of the information ... careful consideration was excersized in determining an appropriate alternate name for this new company. The Result: PANDA DJs powered by Sound Systems Pro DJ ... and offering a combined 44 years of entertainment experience. November 2002 - Take 5 Since September, PANDA DJs has continued to take shape. More and more Professional DJs have approached the group for opportunity to join what appears to be the next up and coming Central Valley Entertainment Group with the most experience to offer. Business cards and post cards have been printed. Next on the list of To Do's is the Panda DJ van wrap-a-round. It's just about done and will soon be roaming the streets of the valley. July 2005 - Take 6 WOW! Has it really been 2 1/2 years since we've touched this page. Boy where has the time gone. O.K., Let's get caught up. December of 2002 "Panda One" was completed. We now are seen throughout the State in our Panda Van. October of 2003, PandaCam Productions was launched. www.pandacamproductions.com May of 2005, Panda DJs & PandaCam Productions now has 100% Full Time daily attention from owner Russ Parsley as he resigns from KVPT (PBS).
