Russ' role at ProtoSource Network changed three times over the course of his two years with the company.  Due in part to internal changes, the Affinity Program was discontinued and Russ' knowledge and expertise in the Web Development Sales & Marketing arena was tapped by the company, effectively naming Russ their new Marketing Director directly responsible for aggressively marketing the services of the company's Web Development division.  Russ immediately formed a marketing strategy with the assistance of a local Lead Generation firm known as Team Results, Inc.  In a very short period of time, the investment the company had made in Team Results, as recommended by Russ, was beginning to pay off in a very big way.  By Q1 2000, the company had experienced a 500% roi, which increased to 1000% by the end of Q3, 2000.

However, through the purchase of an East Coast ISP, three key staff members were retained, two of which relocated to the Fresno location.  With this change, came a new challenge for Russ.  he was offered the opportunity to take on the responsibility of Managing and Developing a growing Branded Internet Services Division.  Just as Russ began developing this division, he was approached by the President of Team Results, regarding an opportunity to head up a Business-to-business division targeting Technology firms throughout the nation.  With the understanding that this concept was a risky undertaking as it had not been proven with the exception of the Lead Generation effort Russ had developed for ProtoSource Network with Team Results.  Russ saw an opportunity to take his Business Development talents to a new level and accepted the challenge.

From November 2000 to June 2001, the new business being developed for Team Results through Russ' efforts was proving this as a viable division of the company.  From the beginning, Russ realized the company needed a web site if they were to be taken seriously within the high tech industry.  Short of marketing funds, Russ set out to locate an affordable, yet professional solution.  In no time at all, Russ had developed the company's first and only web site with the specific intent of telling the company's story.  It worked!  High Tech companies began to take notice.  The site can be seen by clicking on the following link: www.teamresults.com
Russ then realized that there was no differentiation between the B2C and B2B divisions and services of the company which clouded the true professionalism of the company and its employees.  Immediately, Russ put his Branding knowledge to work and created eight separate divisions which specifically identified the services of Team Results.  In addition, Russ delivered to Team Results a vast amount of information regarding the marketing opportunities available to them and their current client base within the Hispanic Communities throughout the nation.  Following a brief ramp up, this Hispanic marketing effort resulted in an additional $1.5 Million in untapped revenue to Team Results for the year of 2001.  The Summer months for the Technology sector began to pose a greater challenge for Team Results in the development of new business.  Then tragedy struck the Nation on September 11, 2001 and all business-to-business efforts of Team Results came to a complete halt as most prospective companies looking at Team Results' Lead Generation solutions as an outsource option, effectively placed their plans on hold until the nation recovered.  With no new business being developed, the relationship between Russ and Team Results as an employee came to an end, but opened the window of opportunity to become a freelance Business Development Consultant.

Russ continued to follow up with various firms that continued to show a desire to go forward with their original plans, while seeking out his next Sales & Marketing opportunity.  In less than 60 days, Russ had a handful of opportunities to choose from.  After great deliberation and private career development counseling with his mentor and various industry professionals he has developed a special relationship with over the years, Russ accepted a position with Western Agricultural Publishing Company overseeing various Sales & Marketing responsibilities in the company's advertising and trade show divisions.  This role, after only a few short months, proved itself to be a real challenge for Russ ... however ... no challenge, to date, has ever been proven too big for Russ,  Western Ag Publishing included.  Quickly realizing the long term challenges the company had faced prior to his arrival, Russ began to develop and implement new and more aggressive sales and marketing strategies for the group.  By implementing a company wide contact management program and various communications tools ... Russ was able to maximize the overall effectivness of the Sales Department and its staff.  Out going sales calls, faxes, e-mails and media kits increased by 300%.  In addition, Russ was asked to create, develop and execute various sales promotions to expedite the potential growth the company was sure to expect.  Upon completion, the incoming phone calls, faxes and e-mails inquiring about the products and services of Western Ag Publishing increased almost immediately. 

s Russ' repair and development work gained momentum and recognition for Western Ag Publishing ... a former employer under a new name approached him with a request to return.  After careful consideration of any potential negative impact Russ' departure may have on Western Ag Publishing, as well as nearly two weeks of negotiations, Russ was offered and accepted the position of National Accounts Manager with the same team of professionals he had left nearly 20 months earlier for the Team Results opportunity.  The Team, following a Management buyout, had effectively converted a public company known as ProtoSource Network to a Private company, now called Brand X Networks.
